If I can save enough, and live frugally, finding the right boat will be a step up.

Gorilla you are not alone.
I get you on the bleak shoreside future especially contrasted with a life on the water so I would rather keep going with this until the wheels fall completely off.

Will get away soon... enginless most likely. Will be a tall order with this boat but as my cruising budget will be very tight to non-existent couldn't afford to keep it anyway so I might as well get rid of the damn thing so I can get my scuba certification and enhace my chances of feeding myself.

Either go engineless and broke or don't go. Since this is a sailboat and I'm a pretty resourceful sailor the choice is obvious.

Won't let it get me down, will just ride the ebb on out.
