Looking 4 VIN #

We own a 1969 Columbia 36ft SloopFor resale purposes we need help to locate Vin #
She was built in Costa Mesa Calif.
We are a documented USCG vessel
And they have issued us an Official #
But insurance is asking for a VIN or HIN #
Any help greatly appreciated

Regs after your boat was built required it on the transom but some makers put it there forever. It's also frequently on the bed for the engine.

Your boat may not have a HIN# in the usual sense as they were not required until 1972. What does your USCG documentation say your hull # is? maybe start there. Also prior to 1972 the location of a hull number ( if any) was not standardized.

The hull identification number (HIN) on all boats built after November 1, 1972 is permanently affixed to the rear of the transom usually on the upper right (starboard) corner. Accordingly, your boat may not display a HIN.

The USCG DOC LIST NO hull #

You all are correct on Prior to 1972 not Standardized
My Hull # is a 3 digit # according to USCG
