As per title, I am a permanent resident and will be looking to
purchase a sailboat in
Florida either this year or next year. Between my Canadian residency and French passport, I know I can stay (as a tourist) up to 90 days in the US without a need for visas or anything.
Also, important factor: I intend to leave the US with the sailboat soon after
purchase (as soon as it's ocean-ready) to go
cruise the
Caribbean.
Thus, my questions are related to
purchasing a used sailboat. Could anyone let me know what the "typical" steps are?
What paperwork needs to be done to leave US waters with the
boat, if any?
Are there
taxes for used boats?
