Re: Honest broker

Diogenes would have been happy for just one honest MAN. If I remember correctly he was disappointed in his quest. Add to Diogenes' requirement that that man (or woman) be employed in Sales as well. And further that this Pillar of Honesty be a BOAT Broker . . . and . . . Well . . . . all I can say is that I wish your a TON of Luck!

You gotta be kidding. Not the honest broker bit, the TO bit. Everything is shut down, can't even go on our yacht club property to check our boats.

Re: Honest broker

Yacht brokers still have boots on the ground

Brokers or any salesman are like coach roaches , ya can’t kill em

I spoke to a broker yesterday , ground zero , New York City

To show a boat he travels to the boat with a video camera

You speak to him via phone and ask him to examine details with his camera

I haven’t seen the results but it’s sounds good

Just curious, are you looking for a broker or making a sarcastic statement?

Instead of offending all professionals, why not just ask for a broker recommendation? I doubt anyone would recommend you a dishonest one.

Re: Honest broker

Sorry, was influenced by reading a long thread that contained this exchange...

My observations- 92.5% of brokers lie when their lips move, 6.5% lie without moving their lips and 1% are honorable people.

I think that is being very kind to brokers.
So I'm trying to buy a boat in Ottawa, arrange shipping and hire yard to wrap boat for teh move but owner seems gun shy about me not being there to co-ordinate so thinking might have to hire intermediary.

Re: Honest broker

I would recommend Pat Sturgeon at Pat Sturgeon Yachts. He's a good man who can be trusted. I've purchased 2 boats through him. One with co-brokerage, one without. He was equally helpful both times. No one's perfect but he'll do a good job for you.

Thanks for the Welcome! Been lurking here awhile. In between boats, looking, but all that's currently on hold for obvious reasons. Stay safe all!
