Getting Paid to Transport Things

I would think cruising around would create an opportunity to transport things for others to generate at least some income.
I was looking at uship and wondering if there is a marketplace particularly for cruisers to get stuff moved.

I wont even begin to tell you about the various rules and regs and unions and officials and customs .. that get involved once you have freight on board.

Probably the best "thing" to transport would be people, legally of course, put out an ad saying you would be in port a heading to port b, charge X number of dollar for passage from port a to port b or someplace in between. Make sure they are legal as in proper passports or other documents.

that is done free here by cruisers who volunteer to bring items from certain chandleries to those of us in mexico who have ordered parts from them, also between cruisers who trust each other.

have you heard of the term "passenger boat". then if you wouldnt mind look up the associated regulations in whatever country youd like to be based

not to mind the insurance issues.

Hey when I said people might be the best thing, what I meant was best out of the other thing mentioned, i.e. drugs. Sure there are regulations, but if you are giving someone a ride from point a to point b and getting paid cash, what are the chances the officials will find out? I would think fairly low.

And you really don't need to be so sarcastic about it.

My goodness, next thing you know wily cruisers will be calling paying passengers 'guests' or 'BFF' to avoid those same rules, regs and taxes when on passage [between airport equipped ports].
I hope it never comes to that!
I think Jack was referring to inanimate packages to ill serviced destinations though, not really competing with Fedex or Cunard.
