Foul Weather Gear Shopping

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and thought I drop a quick hello and intro. I am John, (misspelt profile name!) I reside in Australia and have a passion for harbour and offshore racing. I currently race on a Benetau 40.7 but looking to slowly progress to a proper race boat like a Sydney 36 or 38 once I build a little more competency.

I am currently in the market for sea boots, not the rubber ones, I prefer the breathable Gore-Tex material boots which are good for winter offshore racing.
Anyhow I was wondering if anyone can recommend places to purchase MUSTO, SLAM, AIGLE or Helly Hansen boots. In particular I am looking at the following locations as I am travelling in 2 weeks time throughout S.E. Asia:
- Singapore
- Hong Kong
- Malaysia

It does not have to be a store, it can be an importer/distributor as long as they can give me a great price on the boots. In Australia the gear is pretty expensive, hence why I am resorting to shopping in Asia.

Appreciate your help.

John

Musto is the only one out of your list that uses Gortex. And being made in England, you won't buy them any cheaper in Asia. That is the same with any of the manufactures using Gortex in their products. Gore being themselves the only maker of the product and having extremely tight control of it's use, you won't get knock offs anywhere, unless they are completely useless knockoffs.

Would you like me to correct your name for you???

Hi Wheels,

Sure, please do correct my name to "JohnK", I would be extremely gratefull. I am suprised that Gore-Tex is only used by MUSTO, I thought Aigle did the same, or so they claim. Thank you for highlighting those facts.

Cheers,
John
