Hi all,

Looking to purchase a ~40ft sailing yacht around the Caribbean.

Any advice on brokers? Which/where/ if I need one??

General buying tips in and around that area would be very helpfull

Sunsail I understand take exceptional care of their fleet. They charge for it too. I heard a dirty rumour some Jeanneau and Beneteau labeled as Sunsail models had lower quality features furniture etc. Could just be another Bennie bash story but I’m trying to verify it.
I saw a Jeanneau SO 50 at the right price looked at details 4 heads four births , pass.
Another hurricane damage repaired to manufactures guidelines. What does that even mean ?
Gear they are all naked. “ compass and stove” no plotter auto nav ....
Croatia has even bigger fleet sell off but I believe even fewer statements, but no hurricane damage.
Getting insurance on “ hurricane damaged” boat. Getting it home ( Great Lakes)
According to the deals I paid 60,000.00 too much for my Jeanneau. It sat on the hard without an owner 2 seasons.
These fleet boats have not had the traffic they normally do the past 2 years of Covid. May not be a better time to look at one.
I keep hoping a 440 2018-19 will show up.
The few used ones on the market make new more attractive.
