Can I Lease an Offshore Yacht in NZ ?

I'm looking at spending a cruising season from NZ around the Pacific and back in 2012. I don't want to own a moored yacht longer term as I have a great 23 ft trailer sailer which suits our needs here. I could purchase and then resell after 8 months, but I could also get stuck with it. Has anyone heard of any private leasing/ buyback type schemes? Many thanks, John

Have you considered chartering? could charter a boat in the bay of Islands then fly to the Pacific Island etc

they will rent the boat for as long or short as you want and you would not have to wary about long passages
