A recent issue of their magazine talked about liability only coverage which surprised me. I was not sure they offered it. The issue with liability is wreck
removal. So basically most companies want to be sure your
boat is sound and won't sink and most will require a
survey for wreck
removal.
I had progressive for a few year liability only, but they were having problems with
boats sinking they had insured and
marine operators after them. They are a big company so can handle it, but I believe their liability only rates have gone up by like 4x in last few years. I had been paying $100 a year for $300,000 in coverage and $10,000
medical payments.
My next
boat is "on paper" 25'8" to fall under my homeowners. If i hit something hard enough to do serious damage their won't be much left to measure.
