Boat market changes from 2007 to now?

My wife and I are going to begin the journey of finding our first cruising vessel.

I wanted to post here because I cannot seem to find any previous values. I know this has little to do with buying a boat now but I am just curious how the market fluctuates from year to year with economy as well as how it changes season to season.

Who or where would be the best place to go to obtain market info for boats sold previously?

Consider working with a buyer's broker. Almost any broker will take this role. They typically have access to www.soldboats.com, and can provided you with historical sales prices from there. Or you could buy a very special DeLorean instead.

First decide on the list of boats you're looking for.

Then start scanning the listings, over a few months you'll get a feel of the range.

For most the range is very wide.

Well maintained condition, in current use can mean it's worth 3x - 10x a "project boat" that's been sitting for years.
