Blue Water Insurance

Would appreciate some advice about insurance for cruising in the Western Pacific. We are Australian flagged. I've got a very reasonable quote from a company in Spain/UK underwritten by a company in Gibraltar...mmm. Pantaenius quote was over twice as much but these companies are a long way from the area. Australian based companies are quite expensive.mAny suggestions or experience with claims?

I know that one of the Australian companies when it came to claim time put 4 private investigators onto the boat owner to try and get out of it.
Then offered him about $150,000-$200,000 less on the agreed value total loss of boat.
Be very wary,all is not as you would think.
Then it came down to who had deep pockets to pay for a legal fight or accept the offer.

Thanks Dirkdig. care to name and shame? We are insured at present with club marine and are awaiting their quote but I was impressed by the way they self publicised their rapid response to the Hinchinbrook disaster ....all show?

There was a cat lost at sea and they gave the owner hell and bullied him quite a bit,told us himself at a club information night re the incident.
I will see if i can find any reference to it and update you.
