Most of these books are written by experts in their fields, so you can be sure that they will be useful for you. 1)The Long Way – Bernard Moitessier, 2)A World of My Own – Robin Knox-Johnston 3)Dove – Robin Lee Graham 4) Kon-Tiki: Across the Pacific in a Raft – Thor Heyerdahl. I hope that my recommendations will help you choose the most suitable books for sea voyages and achievements in this area. It would have been great if there had been some sort of Online Plagiarism Checker before, and all the old books would have been checked for anti-plagiarism, too. But unfortunately, many books of this genre are just paraphrases of each other, changing titles, and the level of plagiarism is enormous. It's a shame because there are thousands of interesting stories that have never been told!

there is a new series out on kindle by john drake - the fletcher series. cross between hornblower and flashman. very entertaining...

Good sailing fiction? Is there a plot worth reading? Characters that aren't superficial? A realistic voyage--in fact, so realistic it might even be true? Is it enjoyable to read (we're not talking Moby Dick here)?

Just finished a long drive where I listened to "Rarotonga" via audiobook by Christian Williams. Very entertaining. The author is a lifelong sailor who has done several solo passages from S. Cal (where he lives) to Hawaii. He also has a youTube channel.

Hornblower at the Atropos excites me to sail and puts me in awe about how good the British sailors were. Children of the Neon Bamboo would be another good sailing book, although sailing isn't the primary plot.
