Great on-line book resource...

This may have come up before but I can't recommend this book source enough:

Been using ABE for awhile now and it's been invaluable to me replacing lost volumes and finding unusual titles.
For those not familiar they are on on-line vendor that connect buyers with small book stores internationaly.
I recently had to replace a few books from Hiscock, Street as well as Diane Beeston's wonderful Of Wind Fog and Sail, published by Chronical Books and now out of print. Through ABE I found a very nice edition for very easy money from Freinds of the S.F. Maritime museum.

I love this book. I've attached a lovely pic from it of Stars in action. Beeston was a great photographer and so many fabulous shots that capture what a joy it is to sail S.F. Bay. Cannot rcommend it enough!

Yep. ABE is great, as is Alibris.com. They are complementary; there is some overlap but ABE will have books that Alibris won't. I also visit SeaOcean books here in Seattle for OOP books; John has a lot of stuff that just can't be found anywhere else. Even with online bargains, I still try to support my locally-owned chandleries and book vendors when I can.

This was an amazing find of mine recently. That's my great uncle in the Bear Boat Magic pictured in the book. Never knew about the book, but surely need to source it. So, thanks for the information. Last Saturday was my discovery and I had to write about it!

Connie has found the local Librarys to be a great online source of sailing books and many other related subjects ! Free to! if ya have a library card ! just another thought !!
