Australian East Coast Guide Book

Hi,

I recently acquired a FREE publication called "Ship2Shore". It covers everything marine on the East Coast of Australia. Marinas, where they are, contacts etc. Diving, chandlers, engineers and everything you need when cruising. This link is to their web site. http://www.ship2shore.com.au/

These books are an absolute must if you are visiting the East Coast of Australia. Tide tables, Coast Guard, Weather information, GPS coordinates for dive, fishing and marinas, you name it.....etc. This is a 300 page comprehensive guide.

Believe it or not, I have no affiliation with the company, I just happened to pick up one of these books whilst visiting Queensland a few weeks ago.

The definative guides to cruising the NSW and Queensland Coast are written by Alan Lucas. The are available from Boat Books.

I have a copy of the latest edition of Alan Lucas Cruising the NSW Coast. Cost $70

Its in great condition except the glue in the spine broke and I have replaced it with silicon.

I endorse Lucas' various guides. However, for more detailed info I recommend Noel Patricks "Curtis Coast" He explored that area (Bundaberg to Mackay) is whole life apart. Noel died a couple of years ago but a new edition updated by a relative was published in 2008.

For the Whitsunday area Mackay to Bowen "A Hundred Magic Miles" is also good and has aerial photos of anchorages.

PS If you use Google World you can download quite detailed reasonably recent satellite photos of any anchorage. You can often see where other boats choose to be anchored at the time of the shot. AMAZING
