A mechanical propolusion unit that did not rely on fossil fuels, possibly some kind of hydrogen fuel cell engine safe for use in boats.

Bottom paint that would last the life of the boat... no slime, or other
marine growth...

Anchor that is so good and with a low price; that no one has any reason to not use it. And for which the manufacturer has no reason to defend it or trash anyone else's anchor in order to sell it.

A watermaker that has enough output to be useful, but which has low energy demand.

A better inexpensive battery! Smaller, lighter, higher storage, last almost forever.

Hull wax than only needs to be applied once and lasts forever after that.

Plexiglass etc for windows and hatches that doesn't ever fade, crack, distort, break. And rubber type seals to go along with it!

Re: what product do you wish existed?

Since many of us live on the water and that is primarily Hydrogen and Oxygen, how about a way to separate the two economically. Perhaps utilizing excess solar and wind power for a few days to top off our "fuel supply". A LOT of energy esists right under our hull if we could just get to it.

A little demonstration of the energy is below and probably would be no more dangerous than propane, I'd hope. Of course, it does look like a slight mishap would have a tendency to make a small hole if things were to go wrong.

A ban on toggled lobster warps.

Flexible, thin film solar panels that are efficient and affordable.

A four-stroke outboard that doesn't weigh half a ton.

Flat screen mount that swings up. I built this one, it works well, but I don't love it: Sail Delmarva: Flat Screen Mounting

Unbreakable wind vanes. This works but could be improved. Sail Delmarva: Wind Vanes

A chain hook that can go over the bow rollers. A rolling hitch works, as does a spectra sling.

Low-profile solar pannels that you can step on. There are the flexable ones, but they are very innefficient.

I have a whole list of wants that are improbable--a job I can take a 6-month break from--these I think are doable.

A simple, rugged, cheap tow-behind generator. Even better-A low output generator mounted on a simple swing hinge like an outboard engine.

A paint/varnish stripper that really works, yet doesn't damage fiberglass!

A 12 volt generator that works on the principle of the shake light flashlights. Seems like there is enough action on a downwind run to generate some electricity.
kind regards,

How about a service facility? ....not unlike a product. I'm thinking of my future. Where will I find an assisted living marina?
