Re: Velair aircondicing

Sorry I didn’t see this sooner. Yes I have one on my boat and I am a dealer/installer for them. I can assist with DIY install and validate your warranty remotely if you purchase through us.

This has been a real game changer in the marine A/C. Almost no startup load, energy efficient. I run my 16k off my inverter. On low mode it will draw 33 amps DC @ 12v off the inverter. To maintain temperature in can draw even less. I’ll be posting a description video shortly on our website. For now there are details on there and a video of someone running 2 x 16k units on a Honda 2200.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

André

Wish I had contact with you before I bought this one.

Re: Velair aircondicing

André, I would like to talk to you about the Velair products, I'm also looking for a new system to replace the existing ac on my boat, Velair looks promising.

They do seem like a great alternative to the much more expensive Marbru if you're looking for air conditioning at anchor. I'm interested in hearing anyone's experience long term.

Re: Velair aircondicing

I'm not planing to use the AC at anchor much, but I'm a big fan of inverter AC, the reduce noise and cooling capacity when the desired temperature is reached is a lot more comfortable than a system that turns on and off.

Very satisfied with mine, having used it quite a bit in both heating and cooling modes. It’s generally much quieter than regular ACs, especially when near its target temperature. On some mornings it’s hard to tell it’s on, with a soft hum comparable to a fridge.
I posted a video on some thread here showing it running off solar + inverter under sail.

Re: Velair aircondicing

We love ours. Soft start and runs easily off the inverter. We have not used it that much but good to know that we can if we choose to on the pick when it is hot and still. No genset on board. Draws between 25-40amps 12v and cools the boat down quickly.

Re: Velair aircondicing

I recently purchased the Velair 10k and installing is simple enough. I have plenty of water flow, however I get the "HP" code on the display instantly. The until does not even have time to start the pump. Any ideas on why, a bad pressure switch perhaps? I have yet to get the until to work.
Any help is appreciated as I have had no luck getting anyone from Uflex to get back with me.
