Greetings all. My wife and I are getting our
Hunter 41 ready to
head to the
Bahamas this fall, and recently commissioned the
service department at our marina to replace the cutlass bearing. I was quoted $400.00 for the job and I agreed to that
price. The invoice just came in, and we have been charged $1425.00 for the job. To say the least, I am a bit miffed. There was no
phone call during the process to let us know of any difficulties, just a huge bill for me to deal with at the completion. This is a new marina to us, one we like and had planned to stay for the remainder of our
boating days. I'm really at a loss as far as what to do here... I'm going to have a nice calm conversation with them tomorrow, but I'm completely in the dark as far as any rights I might have. The quote was a verbal one - I don't have it in writing, so I guess I'm screwed. Anyone have any insight as to what my rights (if any) are here? Also, I was going to have them install a couple of
solar panels for me, but I'm thinking I might want to go elsewhere. If anyone has any suggestions for that in the Middle River area of
Maryland it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
