Southco push to lock/unlock, pull/twist to open....

M1-2A-13-1, M1-2A-15-1

Anyone with experience with these catches?
Twist or push to open?
Strikes me push to open could end up with unintended consequences heeling?
I realize they are chrome on plastic.https://www.biscoind.com/Southco/M1-2A-13-1
