Refrigerants

Is there an effective dropin replacement for a engine driven cold-plate refrigeration system? What are the issues for R12 alternatives?

Are we talking refrigeration systems or refrigerants?

Seafrost makes an engine driven refrigerations system, but being a boat nothing is "drop in" east.

Most R12 alternatives will, when used in an R-12 system, decrease the cooling capacity of the system by a small margin. there are several refrigerant types that can be used in place of the r12.
