I am looking for a simple MOB alarm when a crew or 4-legged crew falls overboard ... not dependent on internet coverage and no need to have precise tracking, just a simple system that rings a loud alarm when the sensor goes out-of-range.

Anyone has any experience about the NASA MOBi or other similar product?
I heard that the Raymarine LifeTag was discontinued! Wonder why??

Thanks for any input.

We bught and tried a system for pets called "Findster" and that did not work at all on a boat as it depends on imprecise GPS position and smart phone on all the time ... with sensor batteries to recharge daily!!

There are several, newer ones based on AIS. See good write up and testing over at Panbo. He has link to Standard Horizon 2200 VHF that gives loud alarm when it gets AIS message from the MOB AIS tag.
