Name the hatch

I am trying this way to see if anyone can ID this hatch by the knob, as this is the only logo I can find, a seagull.

Re: Name the hatch

Goiot use a seagull logo and make hatches?

HATCHES – GOIOT-SYSTEMS

[Edit]The knob is a Goiot PT-KF8 from their Tradition range of hatches (may also be used in other hatches, don't know).[/Edit]

That's easy!

That's a knob from the Booby Hatch.

Clever joke and good visual Boat humor.

Re: Name the hatch

That portlight was made by Fuller Brush Company!

Probably back in the day of Mad Men and the Graduate, when "Plastics" were relatively new and some odd companies were producing plastic products off all kinds.
__________

What specific boat make, model, and year?

Why hasn't that been mentioned before?

__________

While that portlight looks like it is deeply cracked and damaged due to age and UV...and I would not use it..

If the boat is worth restoring...

I would consider adding some stainless portlights. Give your boat some bling!

Re: Name the hatch

I will second the recommendation by Steadman to replace it with a New Found Metals port. They make many sizes and you should find one that will fit that spot with just minor modification. I replaced all my plastic ports with these and it's one of the best upgrades I've done (right after the new fridge/freezer).

Re: Name the hatch

You could also see if Fuller still makes something in the same size. They still exist and sell into the OEM market. Doubtful, but maybe worth checking? If the first one lasted 45 years....

Re: Name the hatch

Goiot would take offence at the suggestion that this sorry plastic-portlight would be one of theirs...

As Dsanduril noted (post 9)
Fuller Industries, LLC formally known as Fuller Brush ➥ Portlights | Fuller Industries LLC.
