MARINE REFRIGERATION SERVICE NEEDED

Refrigeration has been an ongoing problem for me. Have had my present boat, an '88 Lee Wilbur 34' trawler, for about five years. Replaced the original massive refrigeration compressor shortly after acquiring Stardust. The replacement failed almost immediately... poor installation.

That was replaced with a new system and professionally installed. It never worked properly.

My present system, actually two units, one for the freezer; a smaller one for the fridge, was self installed. These have worked well for several years except for the fact that the freezer unit only produced fridge type temps... mid 30 degrees F. A good beer cooler.

Recently the fridge evaporator was freezing to a solid ice block and not cooling properly. Curiously, the freezer was doing the same while running constantly, though still producing ice cubes.

A local refrigeration service added freon to both systems... and things only got worse. The fridge is now about fifty degrees F and a thermometer hung on the freezer evaporator reads forty degrees F.

Now looking for a marine refrigeration tech who knows what the heck he is doing. About the first of June I plan to head south along Florida's ICW to the lower keys. Is anyone able to offer a recommendation for a good refrigeration service guy anywhere along my route?
