I decided to relocate my
Raymarine C80
Chartplotter from the Nav Station to the
helm and got myself a Navpod GP1051 to install at the
helm. Unfortunately the unit was shipped with the wrong front half which was identical to the correct one except for the positioning of the posts & screwholes into which the screws that secure the front
bed in. A simple packing error ... something that can easily happen.
To be completely honest I was a bit annoyed at this but my annoyance completely evaporated once I contacted
Ocean Equipment about the issue,
Their customer
service is simply
FIRST CLASS. All it took was an e-mail with a
photo explaining the problem and they reacted immediately and efficiently. They immediately acknowledged the problem and after a couple of e-mail exchanges discussing logistical options for getting the front replaced my new navpod front was duly and efficiently replaced ahead of the scheduled date when it was promised. One should also note that the replacement front had to be shipped via FedEX to
Malta from the US which is not
cheap to do.
What can I say ... A great product backed by outstanding customer
service.
