Jabsco pump ran for all of 2 hours....

Sent the following not to Jabsco, let see if they stand behind their products or not...

Models 42630 & 42631
Par-Max 1

Quote:
I installed the above pump 2 years ago on my CSY sailboat and have been happy with it.
Earlier this summer the pump started acting up and would no prime as the suction was reduced to about half of normal.
I purchased a pump-service kit for about $45.00 and got the pump working again, but not for long:
After 2 hours of total run time (Over a 2 month period) it failed once again.
Just like the first time I took the pump apart to look for foreign objects that could have blocked or interfered with operation, but found none and did not really expect to find anything as the pick-up line has a screen installed.
I belive the above is a warranty problem and would appreciate your organization sending me a pump-service kit/replacement pump.
(The motor is running just fine, the pump part is the problem and I concluded the pump quit working due to one or two tiny little broken springs and I will be happy to mail you all the parts so your technical department can check for quality issues)
Thanks

Not heard a thing back from Jabsco and since I could not find the receipt, I broke down and get a new pump-kit, this time for $32.00.

Will make sure I keep the paperwork and if this one goes bad as well, I'll raise enough hell to get a new one for free.

We stopped buy Par and Jabsco products a long time ago. They used to make good products but now most fail in less than a year for those of us that use our boat full time an some, like float switches, etc, can be catastrophic so why would anyone consider using a product that may potentially fail to keep their boat afloat?

Just re-sent my original message and included this this PS;

Quote:
PS: This is the second message on the same subject, never heard back from your organization the first time. A mistake or do you intentionally ignore your customers when they are having problems with your products?
Doubt I will hear back this time either, but I am pretty stubborn..

I second this. I have had bad experiences with Jabsco marine heads (horrible) and fresh water pumps (lated less than a year). I now have a new Raritan (so far, so good) and a Shureflo (1 year and still going).

Well, I got a response this time around:
They are sending a repair kit. Good news.

[QUOTE]I have placed an order for you to receive another repair kit as you
have requested. Please reference order # 560544 if you have any further
questions. The order will take approximately 3 weeks for you to
receive.

I would also like you to know that I personally answer every email I
receive and this is the first one received from you.

Thanks,
