Re: Favorite boat vacuum cleaner
I grabbed a cheap 12v one like this:
https://www.whitworths.com.au/12v-we...vacuum-cleaner
While it's not super strong, it has worked for me, especially if you hold the receiver as it does tend to tip over.
When it dies I will be getting another!

Re: Favorite boat vacuum cleaner
This little bugger is the best vac I've used for the boat, the hose is handy for getting into the darker reaches on the boat or incarcerating unwanted little creatures, think cockroaches, without nasty poisons or squishing them only to have them expel their eggs everywhere. OK, more than you want to know.
Not good for water though.

Re: Favorite boat vacuum cleaner
I didn't bother to post a link when I suggested a $20 "stick" vac from WalMart. Turns out we like the 2nd one that we keep by the front door of the house so much that we're getting a 3rd one for the back. So I just happened to be looking it up on line today.
The one on the boat is well into its 6th year of use now. There's a new model out, and they're under $19 now: https://www.walmart.com/ip/BISSELL-3...-38B1/55566580

i use a dirt devil upright . uses 120 v and is adequate for cleaning boat. for anchoring i clean by hand..washing flloor instead of vacuuming. for heavy jobs, invertors usually work if enough wattage

I agree with the "Boat" tag = higher price.
Thanks
What type of cleaner you use for serious deck cleaning? Hundred of "boat" cleaners on line!!!!

Re: Favorite boat vacuum cleaner
We all tend to justify our purchases but I love my Milwaukee M-12 cordless vacuum, which uses the same battery as the drill, driver and soldering iron I keep on the boat. I also have M-12 drill/impact driver, circular saw and jigsaw at home. It's a great suite of tools and they will accommodate the newer larger-capacity M-18 batteries. very similar (if not identical) to Bosch.

Re: Favorite boat vacuum cleaner
A wet/dry shopvac and a broom are the best options in my opinion.

Favorite boat vacuum cleaner
We use a Milwaukee 28V drill as a winch handle, so it seemed natural to buy the vacuum too.
Well the thing is horribly loud, screams like a banshee, it’s high pitched whine is so bad you have to wear hearing protection, honestly. It is a good although small wet vac.
Plus you have to charge the batteries anyway of course.
So now we use this, $50 on Amazon, cheap lightweight and works well.
However it pulls 10 amps of 110 VAC, that is 100 amps of battery power through an inverter.
