DHR Oil Lamp Repair

I have an old DHR trawler lamp that I've used and enjoyed for a few years. Recently, however, the oil tank has begun leaking. There is a seam around the circumference of the middle of the tank and a gasket at the top of the tank where the wick mechanism screws in. I have the gasket, and I suspect it is leaking at the seam. Does anyone have experience repairing this sort of thing? Any suggestions about what type of sealant I could use to reinforce the seam? The lamp is made of brass.

First...welcome to the forum. I had a leaker once, like that. I emptied it out, sloshed alcohol a few times and soldered, from the outside. Worked for me.

Thank you! That's a good suggestion. I also finally heard back from DHR, who suggested penetrating epoxy or brass lacquer sloshed around on the inside of the seam. One of these should certainly work.
