I found a coconut in the
Bahamas (that was the easy part). When I got home, I sanded the outside smooth and cut off the bottom third of it. After varnishing the outside, I cut a hole in the top and epoxied a light fixture from West
Marine on the inside of the coconut. I then wired it to a cigarette lighter
plug. It took a little
work and cost about $25. Whenever I use this custom coconut
cockpit light, it brings back great memories.
