Cleaning Products - The Head
Can anyone reccomend a good cleaning product for cleaning the white plastic bathroom sink area. I just bought a Rafiki 35.
Thank you,
Gazoo

Re: Cleaning Products - The Head
To clean a plastic sink, always avoid harsh abrasives: Do not use steel wool, nor abrasive cleansers [etc], which can scratch the plastic.
You could start with a baking soda and vinegar paste, for general cleaning.
For hard water spots, soak paper towels soaked in vinegar, let them sit, and then scrub.
For tough stains, apply a soft cleanser, like “Barkeeper's Friend” Soft Cleanser, and scrub with a non-scratch sponge, such as a “Scrub Daddy”.
For discoloration [yellowing], apply a paste of oxygen bleach, and water, cover with plastic wrap, and let it sit for several hours, before scrubbing and rinsing.
After cleaning, always rinse thoroughly, and repeatedly, then dry with a soft cloth, to avoid haziness.
And for extra shine, apply a small amount of food-grade mineral oil, and buff. Let it dry, for about an hour before use.

I found that sometimes light stains and such likes get removed with baking soda / water paste - toothbrushing.
Just brush the stains, not your teeth.

A couple of things there... Watch out for Barkeeper's Friend. The ones I've used are highly abrasive and not good for plastic. Maybe they have a different product without the abrasive, but either way read the label.
While Vinegar and Baking Soda create an interesting reaction, it's a combination best used for impressing youngsters. The fizzing doesn't actually clean anything. Vinegar by itself can clean some things well. Baking soda by itself, wet with a bit of water, becomes a mild abrasive which can also help clean things. Putting them together is just for show.
A Magic Eraser may work. I haven't tried them on straight plastic, so again read the label, but they work well on other things.
Lots of harsh cleaners can ruin plastic. Stick to something simple and, above all, non-abrasive.

When you say plastic, do you mean fiberglass? Formica? Something else? In any case, I would try the least abrasive stuff first. Dawn Power Wash can be pretty amazing. Let it sit for a few minutes and then wipe off. Bon Ami is very good, and I think less abrasive than Barkeeper's Friend.

It seems to be just plain plastic. I took a picture and attached it here.

Do you have a photo taken from a little further away? I can't really tell what I'm looking at...but it doesn't look good. It looks dinged and marred and something spilled and dried.

You are not going to get that clean. Perhaps cleaner than it is now, but not clean. They sell kits for painting/refinishing bathtubs, and I think that is your best option.

Re: Cleaning Products - The Head
It looks like a Corian plastic sink and countertop. Our friends over at AI say:
"To remove stains from a Corian sink, first, try cleaning with warm, soapy water, or a non-abrasive household cleaner like an ammonia-based cleaner. For more stubborn stains, use a mild abrasive cleanser such as Soft Scrub with a non-scratch Scotch-Brite pad (white, light-duty) in a circular motion. For tougher stains, apply a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide or use a paste of baking soda with dish soap, let it sit, then scrub and rinse."
Others recommend first using "hot water and bleach" or "Oxy-Clean."
Wish I could be more help.

Star Bright offers several very good compounds. We use one of their cleaners to remove rust stains from both metal and gel coat.
