CJM DC60 Watermaker what can it do?

I bought a DC60 out of NZ, at the time described as the worlds leading Watermaker… not unhappy about that, (though it is a monster @26kg)… I'm only just at the point of fitting the Unit with boat still in construction. I’ve learnt a lot from prev threads (thanks CF) i am now puzzled: a) it appears most off shelf & custom builds have a priming low pressure pump designed to lift raw water & run through whole system before start up.. then you switch HP pump on concurrently..yes? b) most use a 500/800 then 5000 micron filter, pre HP pump…? Well CJD Engineering instructions seem to have raw water feed to 500 filter direct from sea cock/strainer. They also use no secondary 5000 micron filter. As CJD. though listed on NZ Company register, have no trading sites/contacts… would anyone have one of these in operation or could advise?
