Re: Best inkjet printer for the boat

I just found out that Apple does not support printing to bluetooth printers, so no point in getting the BU-30 BT adapter for the iP100

This might be a good option to solve my problem

Time to raise the dead...

I just found the Epson Workforce WF-100. It looks like it ticks all of the right boxes for an onboard printer.

It supports wireless printing from Windows/MacOS/iOS/Android. It comes with a battery, can be charged from USB (easy to add USB charging to 12V) and is claimed to be the worlds lightest & smallest mobile printer.

Wow, small and elegant [sic] has a price. For 1/4 the cost of that printer, Epson sells the Epson WorkForce WF-2630 All-In-One Wireless Color Printer with Scanner, Copier and Fax which includes all sorts of useful things like the scanner, in case someone says "You'll need three copies of that". Small portable printers didn't use to be so pricey!

The WF-2630 is not exactly a boat friendly size

Point taken, hoppy. But it shows Epson can sell you 4x more pieces, 4x more plastic, 4x higher shipping and shelf-space costs, for 1/4 the price. The magic of mass production?

Or do they need to get all the profit up front, because the ink carts are refillable?(G)

Re: Best inkjet printer for the boat

Four years later ..and has anything changed? The IP100 is still popular and still sold (but there is also an IP110). The Epson WF100 is also still sold and also seems pretty popular.

Does anyone have any new recommendations? One thing I like about the WF100 is the USB power supply which means I can run from 12v. Has anyone used this on their boat for a while and can comment on whether the inks dry up etc?

Thanks

Just get an all in one, scan all your important papers and save them as .pdf’s.
A printer / scanner / copier was something that I didn’t really think we would need, but when you do it comes in real handy to have

My IP100 still going strong but I would buy the newer IP110 now of-course.

Yep, or buy proper cigarette papers for rolling your joints.
