Hello, can anyone recommend a good comprehensive guide to cruising the BC coast?

Re: BC cruising guide

Hey Chile,

Which areas are you headed to? I like the Dreamspeaker series

http://www.dreamspeakerguides.com

Very good info, great photos and sketch charts, very well organized.

Re: BC cruising guide

Inside the US there are Coast Pilots, for the rest of the world there are Sailing Directions. These are detailed books produced by the US government describing bays, harbors, etc. for ships. It shows charts needed and so on.
BC Pub. 154 can be downloaded free here:

I also uploaded the pdf if it worked...

Also, Ocean Cruise Guides. Yacht type, lots of pictures, covers many smaller anchorages and marinas. I believe there are two. One for the inside to Alaska and another for the outside of Vancouver Island. I know they are on Amazon.

Yeah, I thought that series would be recommended. I don't have a boat yet, but will soon. Thanks for reply. Chile

Re: BC cruising guide

If you're heading north of Cape Caution, I'd suggest the Douglass guide "Exploring the North Coast of British Columbia".
