bargainboatparts.com ????

Anyone ever deal with this company? They come up in my search for a part I need but can find no reviews for the company anywhere on the net which is a little worrying. I find several references on this forum (including one from me a few years back) but no reference from anyone actually buying from them.

They list a toilet part I need for $188 compared to $243 from Fisheries Supply. One of those almost too good to be true deals which makes me suspicious.

That gamble sounds like it could be a crapshoot to me Skip...

No help from me...

Jus' bumpin' along...

I'd call 'em for sure... If they answer the phone a couple times, and verify stock, why not??? Ask 'em some tricky question to test their knowledge depth... Like the length of your backstay or the name of your first girlfriend...

Some interesting stuff. The items I checked did not mention manufacturer. So this could no clone POS stuff. Or decent prices from.

Hard to tell

A real crap shoot. The fact that I couldn't find a single comment or review of the company on any of the normal websites that do such things was concerning.

Or who's buried in Grant's tomb?

I'm more worried about having my credit card scammed or my email forwarded to a Nigerian prince. If they are really selling boat stuff I'm not too worried about getting a clone POS. After all, how many Chinese companies would spend time making an obscure part for a 20 year old marine toilet?

Even if they did, it's not a high tech, tight tolerance part so how badly could they screw it up? On second thought, it does have mating surfaces and the potential for leaks is a bit... unappetizing.

This alone would not make me suspicious. Call them.

When you find a bargain, JUMP on it! Use PayPal or credit card for protection.
