What to do with your dingy

So you are out on a crossing, say Mystic to Bermuda, when 3 days out you hit a submerged object and you need to abandon your yacht. You have fully prepared and activate your EPIRB, launch the liferaft and are set to go. Should you tow your dingy? Any value in this?

Re: What to do with your dingy

Depending on weather, I think I’d take the dinghy and keep the liferaft in it’s valise, case etc.
My reasoning is I have many hours of fuel that can take me along at speeds up to 20 kts or so sea conditions permitting of course, but if I see another boat or ship, I could make my way to them, or if I grabbed the 5 gl dinghy fuel can off the deck, I may make it all the way or close to all the way back.

Weather and sea state dependent of course, but if it gets bad, I would have the life raft.

Your correct-I typed too fast. Meant to include calm seas and long range weather reports good.
