Vitamin D and the Cruising Sailor

There was a fascinating interview this morning on ABC Classic radio (Australia) by Margaret Throsby of Professor Rebecca Mason, a specialist in Vitamin D. Her research focuses on the way it affects bone and skin.

The interview covered much more, including the effect of vitamin D on bone mass, diabetes and depression.

For those unfamiliar with Margaret Throsby's interviews it does include some lovely classical music and lasts just under one hour, but has a lot of fascinating information on Vitamin D and the effect of sunlight on the human body. The MP3 version omits the music.

For those of us who wonder about the cruising lifestyle this interview rang many bells.

It can be found for the next few weeks at Mornings with Margaret Throsby - Wednesday 4th may 2011
