Don't get me wrong, I am generally a pretty liberal person, but what kind of disincentive are we sending Pirates when after we do catch a few, we give them a little lecture then
food and
water and send them on their marry way... from their POV, if they suceed in capturing the
boat they get Millions from the shippers or Yachties if they fail, they get
food and
water for their next attempt. I would walk them off the plank or let them use a revolver for personal use, their choice. Don't think that it's just an eastern
Africa problem, when the criminals see the gutless reaction of everyone but the French (of all people), these incicents will increase everywhere...
