Updated 12:04 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012
OGALLALA, Neb. (AP) — Authorities have released more information on a deadly collision
between a personal watercraft and a boat
on Lake McConaughy (mah-CAHN'-eh-hay) in western Nebraska.
Keith County Attorney Randy Fair says 64-year-old Richard Caroselli, of Brighton, Colo., died on Sunday when the watercraft ended up the boat
. Fair says four other family
members were in the boat, and three of them were injured.
Fair says 36-year-old Andrew Schmidt, of Castle Rock, Colo., is charged with manslaughter and reckless/negligent operation of a personal watercraft. His case isn't on the online court system, and it's unclear if he has an attorney.
Fair says reports show the boat was coming into a dock
when the watercraft slammed into the side of the boat and landed in the boat.
