Plastimo Cruiser 4 person liferaft

I could buy a new unused Plastimo Cruiser 4 person liferaft at a good price. It's in its original valise with the original untampered tape. Inspection date may be past due, no information about that. Does anyone have hands-on experience with liferafts, perhaps with that particular one? I plan on going transatlantic in a few years, but need it for much shorter passages before that.

Is there anyone who ever had to use a liferaft? Interested to hear your story.

I used to work at a school as a sea survival instructor and we used to get out of date rafts donated for demonstration purposes. I remember once pulling the painter on a raft that was 17 years past its service date. It inflated perfectly!

However I would not advise "taking the risk". Only advice is to have it professionally serviced.

... Plastimo Cruiser is for coastal use.

On a transatlantic still better than no liferaft in my opinion but on a transatlantic I definitely would go for one designed (and equipped) for Offshore voyages ...
