I think that “ball” was their boat and supplies.

Actually, we don't really know what is wrong aboard the vessel. What is really super, to me, is how well the parachutists coordinated their rendezvous with the boat, and put it together and headed for the target vessel. Don't know who flew the drone, but watching the whole attempt unfold was really good. I liked it.

I like the opening line:


"Rescuers with the Air National Guard’s 129th Rescue Wing parachuted from a moving plane"


Well if wasn't moving they'd be still on the ground or joining the boat in the Ocean
