Re: MEDICAL AID FOR CRUISERS

Check with your existing Med Aid. I think Discovery will fly you home within the first few months of travel. Why not invest the sum of money that you would pay in premiums before you go to have a nestegg in case of misshap. Don't forget you're embarking on about the most healthy lifestyle there is, and accidents aside, the chances of dread illness reduce with increase in distance from land. ! On a 5 year circumnav no boats our of our aquaintance in our season including those with children ever needed any serious doctoring. If push = shove have enough cash on hand to pay for an airticket home and go to a govt hospital !!

Re: Medical Aid for Cruisers

HI I know ours only covers us for the first 90 days then no more cover from SA unless you get yourself back home. other cover we hd with DAN had the same problem. we now have international DAN and are looking at BUPA, do any other non UK USA cruisers use BUPA? Has it worked for you?
