Interesting Safety hardware

How It Works :: Explore SPOT

I hadn't seen this before. Does anybody out there have any experience with these. Sounds like it my be a good idea especially to keep my kids informed of where I am along a coast that has a areas where communication is a problem. Cheaper than a Sat. phone.
