Folding Ladders, Safety Issue

I noticed a couple using a folding ladder while working on their boat on the hard (Common item in a boatyard) It was a Krause 12 ft mulitmatic. I related to them that the model they had was recalled due to failures.

Mine failed and I ended up falling 10 ft and a broke my back! If you have a Krause folding ladder check the model numbers. Three models were recalled.
12-foot MultiMatic, model number 121482
16-foot MultiMatic, model number 121499
12-foot TriMatic, model number 121321

The locking clips on my ladder sheared. They are potmetal and red in color. The new ones are steel and apear fine.

I have one of those ladders

I have one of those ladders (krause multimatic 121499). I live in the US and can not find any recall info. Do you know what I can do like taking it back to home depot for replacement, or will they laugh in my face?

Excerpted from the Krause “MultiMatic” and “TriMatic” ladder recall notice*:
"... Ladders subject to this recall should be returned to the store where they were purchased for replacement or refund.
Owners can also call a toll-free recall hotline at
1-877-KRAUSE1 or 1-877-572-8731."
