Fire prevention

Folks,

My insurers just sent me a link to a piece of fire fighting equipment. Here is a demo of it in action: FKO Fire Knock Out - Retail - English - YouTube

I just thought that it is a very handy piece of kit to install in the engine compartment especially.

Re: Fire prevention

Looks promising. It did seem to explode with a lot of force, I wonder if that would be a hazard in a small confined space like an engine compartment.

As long as you're not next to it I guess, but then again who wants to be inches away from a developing fire. It won't do any damage at all ... it explodes and sprays out fire retardant and not projectiles lol. The fire will do all the damage you don't need.

Re: Fire prevention

Looks pretty darn cool for an cheap and easy install for those without halon systems... OR a backup to an already existing system...

I agree. A hell of a lot of piece of mind too, knowing it automatically works when naked flame hits it (and not simply high temps).
