End of the Year . . . Time to Blow the FSA

If you're lucky enough to have had a very healthy year, like us... And you have a Flexible Spending Account(FSA).... Then you probably have a pile of cash about to evaporate at the end of the year.

Dani and I decided to spend it on a ridiculously expensive first aid kit.

775 bucks. Ouch! It was money to burn anyway.

How many of you guys out there blow your FSAs at the end of the year on boat related health items? And if you do... What do you buy. Besides the kit we're stocking up on sunscreen, vitamins, and joint compounds.

Sounds like you spent yours well.

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is an account that is set up through your health insurance. You estimate an amount you want to spend for the next year then a portion of your paycheck is deducted tax free and put into your FSA account.

You can only use the money on FSA "eligible" items however, and unfortunately in Louisiana paper's aren't covered. But you can buy a bunch of joint pills.
