Emergency evacuation insurance

Hey all, just thought I'd share a bit of what I'd call helpful information. Even if you're not a diver, membership in Divers Alert Network provides emergency evacuation insurance. Membership is about $40 I believe, and that's for a couple. Worth looking into:

DAN is an absolutely great organization; we belonged for years, not just to get the coverage but to support the great work they do. For insurance, however, there are some alternatives with broader options. We carry Medjet http://www.medjetassistance.com/default.asp?partner=

not having had a claim I don't know how good their service is.

Something to look at carefully:
Are they providing a *transport* service? With medical services and charges billed as extras?

Or a full medevac, including onboard medical personnel and care as needed?

Weaselwords are to be expected in insurance contracts, even the ones that are just sold as "member" programs and not "insurance".
