Thank you for this, TBF,

I'd never really thought about it, but it makes very good sense, and forewarned, etc. Anyhow, thanks.

Re: Broken leg, need 2 surgeries without travelers insurance, should we get her home

Listen to moondancer, broken legs are much too frequently thought of as a bit inconvenient but not serious.WRONG Put in simple English, where you get a break you get damage almost certainly causing bleeding which in turn produces blood clotting. The danger is that a clot/clots can break off from the injury site and travel to the heart/ brain with SERIOUS/FATAL CONSEQUENCES. If you check out advice to air travellers on long flights it is "get up and move around regularly" to avoid pooling of blood in the lower leg and thrombosis and use pressure socks and that is for relatively healthy people. Whilst many airlines may refuse to take your Mum, if you find one that does, do you know how to treat/keep alive your Mum at 30,000 ft 4 hours out in the middle of the Atlantic ocean? I do not understand the 2 opps bit? expand.
