Re: Bad critter on the boat...

Giant millipedes are harmless, but giant centipedes have a nasty (venomous) bite.

Re: Bad critter on the boat...

I worked in a Casino in Antigua filled with lovely Chinese girls. While we were finishing up the place, one day I heard 80 girls scream. Which brought me out of the computer room fast. There I saw the biggest centipede I've ever seen scurrying across the floor. I grabbed something heavy and smashed it.

Unfortunately that wasn't the last time I saw one. about every other month, this scenario would be repeated.

Here in Hawaii we have many centipede bite stories. They are one nasty critter. I've seen some 9 inches long but I know they reach greater lengths. Poisonous bites that can actually send people into shock and they are hard to kill unless you crush them. Just cutting them into sections doesn't really stop them from biting.

The first one I had seen looked like a 12 inch snake. I have pics of half of a small one next to my foot and its still big

Re: Bad critter on the boat...

That's pretty creepy, but having my naked wife find a 5" highly venomous, banana spider in our shower pretty much takes the cake as far as I am concerned. Although our friends who found a boa constrictor on their boat in Costa Rica were a bit surprised as well. At least that wasn't venomous.

When they are next to your foot they look like "the one that got away."
