He wrote up a rather funny post about the whole thing too: Rebel Heart - Eric's Blog - and finally(?) the rat saga draws to a*close

Good to hear.

I hope your damage is not too great.

Re: A Damn Mouse

Seems your original mouse/rat from two or three months ago would've shriveled up and become dessicated by now. This guy looks recently dead.

EDIT: Just read your blog, and the "dried-maggot ridden body" part. I guess not so recently dead. Never mind. . . .

Congratulations!! So glad you found the little sneak & even more-dead. Dead mice can chew no holes. Have you heard anything in a while? Not to put anything out there but I look from all sides. Hope this one was the only-and it wasn't a she (pregnant mom's look for cozy places to give birth).

Re: A Damn Mouse

You must have a nose of steel. A smelly dead rat will usually stink up an entire house.

We rented an apartment in town for a month for the birth of our new daughter and I think he died basically right before then. The wind was howling through the cabin in the day times when I was on board and he was in the engine compartment so I think that all added into me not smelling him.

Gross little thing.
