What free software with free offline charts can I use on my PC

I have done some research and I have tried OpenCPN with OpenSeaMaps.

I may be doing something wrong but I could not get sufficiently detailed charts with the above combination.

I have the Navionics Ipad App which I love. I am looking for something free or nearly free for my laptop. Sometimes I just find it easier to plan things on mt laptop.

NB - I need the above to plan my trips. Not for use during trips.

HI,

OpenCPN works great what you have to do is to go to Chart Downloader for NOAA ENC®

the charts are ENC (electronic charts )
download the charts for your trip, unzip the package and install in a folder and inform on OpenCPN software to search and load that folder then you will have the charts with all details in the computer.
The files will be extension KAP and BSB

Uh... No offense, feelin Nauti, but you must not have noticed that the OP is in Amsterdam. I'm guessing that NOAA charts aren't going to help him all that much. And, unfortunately, unlike the United States, most European countries do not offer digital versions of their government-produced charts for free.

Non taken, I did not realize that he was on the other country, have to pay more attention.
