True Vs Magnetic

Can anyone explain how to change the TWD from Magnetic to True on a i70?



Is this a bug of the i70? Everything in my system is set to True.

Can anyone show me a picture of their page on the i70 with the TWD displaying a T instead?

If it’s not in your UserManual it probably isn’t an available function.
The difference between Magnetic and True (Variation) varies with location. For the system to give you True it would need a GPS and an internal map of variation to do the calcs. Not really that difficult anymore but there would need to be demand for implementing it to be justified.
Probably it’s in the works for whenever they need new features to justify a new model at a higher price.

Thanks. Everything is set to true in my settings. Including heading.

I don't see any explanation in the Use(less) manual on page 79 on how to change the TWD from magnetic to true.

My source of wind is iTC5.

Thanks again. Section 8.2 explains how to add, edit or delete custom pages. Nothing about True vs Magnetic TWS.

I think it is a bug. I have noticed this as well.

What you want is TWD (true wind direction) not TWS (true wind speed).

All of my systems are Raymarine and they're all up to date. If it's a bug, it was introduced in the last few releases.

Can anybody here post a picture of the same page showing TWD in True, and tell me what version software they have?

Out of curiosity is the GPS heading on your plotter set for true or magnetic? What happens if you change that?

Hi Jackdale, the heading of the i70 is set to True.

i70
Menu/Setup/User preferences/Units/Heading= True

Axiom
Settings/Units/Bearing=True

If I change the Heading from True to Magnetic in the i70, the TWD is still in Magnetic.
