The South Pacific Rathole revisited

Some years ago I drew attention to the South Pacific Rathole.
https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...le-161990.html

I have just been watching it at work.

Go here https://earth.nullschool.net/#2024/1...42.897,-24.523

Then click on 'earth' in bottom left, go to the control line and scroll forwards in 8 hour increments to the present.
You can see the low starting to form close south of Tahiti and then dropping down through the rathole.
About 4 days later- ie the present - you can see the low offering up 20 knot easterlies in the mid 40's.

I expect it will now scuttle off to the south east.

And very versatile .
That low - which was about 1006mb - barely registered on the analysis.

Now you can admire the workings of lows in the Southern Hemisphere.
